Search databases effectively with the following tips.

1. Use keywords or short phrases 
   • Avoid using full sentences or questions
   • Identify the main concepts of question or topic
2. Broaden or narrow search using Boolean Operators
   • AND - Narrows a search -- articles retrieved must have ALL terms
   • OR - Broadens a search -- articles retrieved may have ANY terms present
3. Utilize database's filters to refine results
