Gifts

The library sends donor information along with the date and number of items to the Development Office, which sends the donor a letter acknowledging the donation.

Items that fit the guidelines of this policy may be added to the library collection.  Gift copies may be used to replace well-used copies currently in the collection. Items not in line with MWU collection guidelines will be offered free to students.

In accordance with IRS regulations and further clarified by the Association of College and Research Libraries, the Midwestern University Library will not provide donors with appraisals of gift materials.  Such appraisal is the responsibility of the donor.
