Covidence

Covidence is a web-based software for screening and data extraction provided by Midwestern University Libraries.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Click "Import" towards the top of the Review Summary page.
  • Select the stage of the review you would like to import your references to. (If you would like to import articles to the beginning of the screening process, choose "Screen")
  • OPTIONAL: Select the source of the file from the dropdown menu under Source to indicate where the imported references are from for labeling purposes
  • Click "Choose file" and select the appropriate file containing your downloaded references from your device
  • Click "Import" to finish importing your references

No, not directly. Find your desired article in a database again and export the single reference using the appropriate instructions for the database used. Once you have exported the reference, import it into Covidence.
Yes. In the Review Summary page, click "PRISMA" to preview your flowchart. Click "Download DOCX" to export the flowchart as a Microsoft Word document that can be edited and then copy/pasted into your final document.
You can use Covidence with a variety of different review types such as a literature review, scoping review, rapid review, and systematic review. Covidence's interface and tools are flexible to many different project types.
