Evidence Synthesis: Scoping Review

Scoping reviews are a type of evidence synthesis to identify and outline the scope of evidence on a topic within a particular field. Scoping reviews can clarify key concepts and knowledge gaps.

Scoping reviews differ from systematic reviews in that they do not involve risk of bias assessment.
