Using EndNote 21 Desktop: Editing References

Instructions for setting up libraries, CWYW and sharing libraries using EndNote 21 by Clarivate.

Editing References

There is no guarantee that a database will import your references 100% correctly for the journal style you need. It is recommended that you save time and frustration by checking for incorrect data and making edits to your references before you start writing.

  • The most frequent changes are to the text data for the article title and journal title
  • You can use the Journal Terms List if you switch between needing abbreviated journal styles and completely written out journal names
  • It is good practice to check the references for accuracy based on the style the journal used
